Description:

The selected person will join the Neurogenomics research group (Biomedical informatics research program).

Task:

Postdoctoral position in Functional Genomics and Neuroscience in the Neurogenomics group, led by Dr. Gabriel Santpere. The main aim to gain insight into the evolutionary mechanisms leading to human brain specializations by means of functional genomics. By leveraging multiple sources of OMICS data at the bulk tissue and single-cell/nuclei level, together with multiple sequence alignments, the group focuses on identifying lineage-specific variants relevant for normal primate brain development as well as for human neuropsychiatric disorders and traits. The tasks include to conduct functional genomics analysis to study the evolution of human brain development and the genetic risk of neuropsychiatric disorders leveraging multiple sources of omics data at the bulk and single-cell level.

Formation:

PhD in in Biology, Bioinformatics or similar.

Experience:

Experience in programming, statistics, single-cell, transcriptomics, epigenomics, molecular evolution.

Knowledge:

Background in neuroscience and or/comparative genomics.
