Description:

The selected person will join the Cancer stem cells and metastasis dynamics research group (Cancer research program).

Task:

Postdoctoral position in the Cancer stem cells and metastasis dynamics research group (https://celiaterrassalab.com/), led by Dr. Toni Celià-Terrassa.The Celià-Terrassa's Lab focuses on breast cancer metastasis research. In particular, the lab investigates the molecularmechanisms regulating cancer stem cells (CSCs) properties and their interplay with the metastatic microenvironment. In addition, the labaims to unveil the mechanisms underlying metastasis, cellular plasticity (i.e. EMT/MET) and immunotherapy resistance, as a major challenge to efficiently targetbreast cancer metastasis. The ultimate goal is to translate these findings into clinical benefit for breast cancer patients.

Formation:

PhD in any of the following areas: life sciences, biomedicine, bioinformatics or bioengineering. Different profiles will be valued in reference to experience in molecular and cell biology, animal experimentation, bioinformatics, and knowledge in areas related to cell biology and cancer.

Experience:

Candidates should have previous experience in any of the profiles mentioned previously.

The project is part of the line of research of breast cancer metastasis, cellular plasticity and resistance to immunotherapy. Our group is working to understand key factors for sensitizing tumors to immunotherapy using specific and directed mRNA technologies. We also focus on dissecting the resistance mechanisms generated by the microenvironment of the different metastatic organs in order to reverse such resistance in breast cancer.
