1.- Catalan Institute of Oncology- Catalan Plan for Oncology-Catalan Government.
2.- Department of Clinical Sciences at the University of Barcelona.
3.- Department of Periodontics. International University of Catalonia.
Dr Clèries’ is a researcher of the Catalan Institute of Oncology. His research focuses in Biostatistics/Epidemiology/Computer Science and he serves as statistics coordinator in the Catalan Plan for Oncology at the Ministry of health of the Catalan Government. He is also adjunct professor of Biostatistics in the Department of Clinical Sciences at the University of Barcelona and he is adjunct professor of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at International University of Catalonia. His research is focused on developing and applying Bayesian biostatistical and epidemiological methods in the intersection of prediction of cancer incidence and mortality, computer science and clinical/public health sciences. He collaborates closely within the group of Dr Yutaka Yasui ( School of Public Health , University of Alberta , Canada) and Dr Jose Miguel Martínez (Universitat Pompeu Fabra) with leading international scientists in health-science fields related with cancer. In his research line, he also collaborates with members of the International Agency for Research on Cancer and members of the Joint Research Centre of the EU. He has been involved in 8 peer-review-funded research projects, 5 by NIH in Spain and 3 internationals (two by Canadian Institute of Health Research (CIHR) and another one by International Union Against Cancer (UICC)). He has been principal investigator in 3 of them and, to date, is an author of more than 30 peer-reviewed publications. One of his main areas of methodology research is Bayesian prediction methods. As exemplified by his service as a biostatistician, he provides estimates of the cancer burden in Catalonia since 2006 and he is internationally known for his methodological research on time trend analysis of cancer. As a directly-relevant background, Dr. Clèries is a researcher of two projects funded by CIHR in collaboration with Professor Yutaka Yasui and Dr Jose Miguel Martínez.
