A delegation from the China Anti-Doping Agency visits IMIM

IMIM and Chinese delegation members

On Friday the 14th of December, the Bioanalysis and Analytical Services Research Group from IMIM (Hospital del Mar Medical Research Institute) was visited by a delegation from the China Anti-Doping Agency (CHINADA) with its deputy secretary general, Ms. Yuan Hong, the administrative deputy secretary, Mr. Fei Sai, the director of the Beijing Anti-Doping Laboratory, Mr. Xu Youxuan, the director of the Food and Drugs Control Laboratory, Mr. Zhang Yinong and Ms. Zhou Xinmiao, member of the Agency’s Administration Department.

This visit is framed within the longstanding collaboration between the Anti-Doping Control Laboratory and IMIM and the Beijing Anti-Doping Laboratory and the China Anti-Doping Agency for research projects on doping control in sports. Until now, there has been collaboration in the study to detect the administration of growth hormone and to detect endogenous anabolic agents.

Besides visiting the facilities at the IMIM Laboratory, the Chinese delegation showed great interest in the current lines of research done at our laboratory, and this has made it possible to start new lines of collaboration which in the future shall include the application of gene therapy in sport performance.
