The Science and Innovation Ministry through the Science and TechnologySpanish Foundation launched last October 9 at the headquarters of the Carlos III Institute the Precipita platform, designed to promote special interesting projects to be funded through micro-patronage (crowdfunding), small contributions from individuals.
One of the selected projects presented is Brainful Legends, a videogame for cognitive stimulation, science-based, modern, funny and, above all, accessible to all people with intellectual disabilities. It is an educational game, oriented to learn competencies and skills, both specific and general. This project is assessed by IMIM- Hospital del Mar Medical Research Institute neuropsychologists and neuropharmacologists (Rafael de la Torre/Susana de Sola’s team) and Centre for Genomic Regulation neurobiologists (CRG, Mara Dierssen’s team), and developed by Oscar García Pañella (Escola de Noves Tecnologies Interactives at the University of Barcelona and Cookie Box) and Richard Hebert (BLOOM - 3D Technologies Centre i Emergents - Girona). Funds obtained by Precipita platform will finance game demo test development.
