The King of Sweden and the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences have visited the PRBB

On Monday, September 21, His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustav of Sweden and a delegation from the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences have visited the PRBB. The delegation is on a 4-day Royal Technology Mission to Spain and has chosen the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park to get informed about the infrastructure and the research that is carried out in this building. Representatives of the Academy expressed their admiration about the scientific concept, its unusual but adequate organizational structure and the diversity and quality of cutting-edge research that takes place in this upcoming and competitive biomedical research hub.

The Swedish delegation was welcomed by Josep Joan Moreso, rector of the University Pompeu Fabra and Vice-President of PRBB and other authorities from the Government of Catalonia and the City Council of Barcelona. The visit included a general presentation of the park by Jordi Camí, General Director, and a circuit through different scientific installations that were presented by the directors and leading scientists of the research centres at PRBB. His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustav of Sweden was also greeted by the two Swedish residents at PRBB, Medya Shikhagaie (UPF) and Christos Gekas (CRG).
